Jon Reed | 9:50 pm 11 Feb 10 Comments 0

The London book trade tweeted up again last night, at #twinter – a successor to #tweetmas, both organized by @benjohncock and @samatlounge of @thebookseller. Social media socialites from across the publishing industry were drawn to Belsize Park’s XO for gossip, drinks and networking. Once again, @missdaisyfrost was in attendance, but as undercover as ever. More [...]

Jon Reed | 11:54 pm 31 Jan 10 Comments 1

So has TV Book Club combined formats with Celebrity Big Brother now? Do we get to evict one each week?
If so, judging by this evening’s Twitter comments, it seems a popular move. But it’s not just the Gok-shaped gap on the sofa that improved things this week. It was having fewer presenters discussing the [...]

Not the Richard & Judy Effect

Jon Reed | 11:54 pm 26 Jan 10 Comments 0

Is Amanda Ross’s TV Book Club the new Richard & Judy? I’d rather watch Loose Women.

10 tips for organizing a tweetup

Jon Reed | 8:44 pm 24 Dec 09 Comments 0

And now for the society pages. You know, Twitterers don’t just spend all day in front of their computer screens or buried in their iPhones. Some of us like to use Twitter to arrange real life meet-ups, or ‘tweetups’ (Twitter loves these portmanteau words beginning with ‘tw’).
The most recent tweetup I went to was a [...]

Tools of Change at Frankfurt Book Fair

Jon Reed | 7:25 pm 14 Oct 09 Comments 0

For those of us not at the Frankfurt Book Fair this week, it’s been easier than ever to keep up with the presentations, the deals, the gossip and the bar-hopping (er, I mean stand-hopping) with the #fbf09 hashtag.
The various blogs and Twitter accounts covering the Book Fair include @thebookseller, the ever irreverent and entertaining @missdaisyfrost, [...]

Oh, and in case you hadn’t noticed, all the action has been taking place over on Twitter lately. Do follow us [...]
