Tweeting up at the London Book Fair

It seems a long time since the London Book Fair, doesn’t it? If you missed any of our coverage you can catch up here.

The highlight for me, as ever, was the Publishing Talk / London Book Fair Tweetup. It was bigger than ever this year, with over 100 authors, publishers and other book trade folk mixing and mingling over a well-earned drink after a hard day’s Book Fairing. Thanks for helping to make it a great night!

It was great to see so many new people too. About half of those there were the usual London Book Trade Tweetup crowd, but the other half had never been to a tweetup before. Plenty of publishing students too, and it was great to catch up with a number of people I had previously only known on Twitter.

For the Twitter-confused, there were plenty of copies of our Twitter Cheat Sheet to go around. If you missed out on one of these, you can download it here.

It should help you work out your DMs, hashtags, @replies etc., while you’re waiting for The Publishing Talk Guide to Twitter – our first ebook, which launches later this month. We’ll even give you a discount on the ebook for downloading the Cheat Sheet.

Here are some of the pictures from the night. You can find more in the Publishing Talk Flickr Group – and add your own if you wish.

If you’re within reach of London, Pearson’s Simon Juden (@SimonJuden) is organizing the next London Book Trade Tweetup this Friday 10th June: Twicnic 2.0. Find out more on the Twtvite. And if you’re nowhere near London but organizing a Book Trade Tweetup in your part of the world, let us know – we’ll give you a shoutout on Publishing Talk!
